Meadowood Program - Special Education Teacher

School Year 2025-2026

Overview:

• Design and implement instructional program for students with intellectual disabilities that incorporates students’ individualized education program
• Adapting materials from general education classroom
• Develop IEPs and monitor student progress
• Effective implementation of behavioral intervention strategies
• Work collaboratively with speech, occupational and physical therapists
• Manage paraprofessional staff assigned to classroom
• Effectively communicate orally and in writing
• Administer alternate assessment
• Lifting, positioning, feeding, diapering, assist with personal hygiene routines, physical education activities (including swimming)
• Successful implementation of approved de-escalation and restraint techniques

Qualifications: Must be Certified in Special Education and highly qualified in General Elementary.
