Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification
  • Must hold or be eligible for certification in World Language(K-12) or Bilingual Teacher(K-12). Elementary certification preferred
  • Demonstrate oral and written proficiency of "Advanced Mid" on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL) exam
  • Proficient in English
  • Clean Criminal Background Check, TB Test, and Child Protection Registry Clearance must be completed prior to start of employment
Primary Duties:
Teaches students half of the day in English and the other half of the day in the immersion language, in this case Spanish.
  • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency and experience in the following:
    • Provides effective instruction of students in order to maximize their learning
    • Motivates students to work to attain their potential as a learner and an individual
    • Assists in the continuous evaluation, development, and improvement of student educational learning as prescribed by district curriculum
    • Maintains appropriate classroom discipline required for maximum student learning and safety
    • Participates in professional development, which targets improved classroom instruction
    • Other related duties as may be required
